Darth Drakhen's lightsaber. Initially owned by a Jedi named Joshua Hideg, when Hideg gave his life to protect Drakhen from the initial explosion the saber survived in damaged form. Drakhen would later reconstruct the saber for his personal use.

A modeling excercise, I used to be a fan of Star Wars as a kid, and I decided to try my hand at making a lightsaber. It was harder than it looked. Modeling and texturing done in Cinema 4D and photoshop. Overall I am quite pleased with the result, especially the texturing.

You're really good! Do you think you could make a pair of lightsabers? You see I write this star wars series and in my star wars series one of my characters (who is based off one of my friends in real life and moved last year) has two curved handles that are made of wood. En-carved on them is a dolphin. The top of it has a bit of silvery metal it would compare to the top of Anakin's only it is flat at the top with Wood. How the handle would work and not burn up when you turned it on is it has the same metal hilt you would normally have only a wooden casing on the outside for decoration. If you could do that that would just be AWESOME!!! And we would really appreciate it!!!

Sure, I'd be interested. Haven't made a lightsaber in quite some time, and I think it's time to make one again. By two curved handles, do you mean a double bladed design, with an inlaid dolphin pattern, or two sabers, each with a dolphin head at the bottom?

2 individual curved beams like Count Duku's with a full Dolphin carved in each hilt

Since I have free time right now, I decided to quickly work up a few concepts for the basic shape.

The fore fins would either remain or hold something so it wouldn't get in the way of the hand. Personally, I think the far left saber has the most potential, but I'm curious as to what shape is closer to what you had in mind. The only issue with that one is that the beam would come out at unusual angle.

MagyarEagle your lightsaber hilt is amazing! I mean wow! Could I use your designs to make myself a live model? I need some help in designs for a lightsaber hilt that I want to get made but I lack any ideas, its suppose to be a double hilt that separates into two individual lightsabers. I was going to add spike crowns around the top of the hilt, but that would maybe just look stupid. I had another idea to make some parts of the lightsaber exposed (like a crystal chamber of the lightsabers beam visible at the top of the hilt and the middle when joined with the other saber) If I can make a model can you tell me were are the knobs/switch?

Of course, I would be honored if you did :) The on off switch is on the side, it is the two sliding switches visible on the side.

Great, thank you! I showed it to the guys that make the models, they said it would be a long project and ill have to wait a year. Won't be making it in a hurry because the hilt and the sound boards will cost a fortune since its a double hilt and the 12 colour changing leds in both sabers. I think the last guy I saw with a double lightsaber and 12 led colours cost him £1000 or was it $1000? I just got a iMac and now Im trying to get photoshop cs5 so I can try digital art. I got the student version, but I need to get the code before I open it. People have said its limited in features but the only difference people noticed is that you can only use it on one computer. I was thinking of getting painter 12, but cs5 will probably be enough.

Well thanks for letting me use your designs, when I manage to afford it I will let you know and send you the photos.
